We are an Austin owned and operated custom frame shop, with over 30 years of experience in design and custom framing. We provide personalized service and expertise to make any piece you have come to life. We can also help you preserve your treasures for you to enjoy now as well as pass on to future generations. November 2011 Show

Austin Bike Poster Show 2011

May is Bike Month in Austin and once again, the Frame Corner hosted the Austin Bike Poster Show. Artist submitted posters with the subject of inspiring cycling for transportation in Austin. Twenty posters of the 39 submitted were selected for the Show and Chris Bomley's poster "Git out There and Ride" (photo on far left) was chosen as the Overall Best of Show. The Show opening party took place on, May 6, 2011, and the posters are on display at the Frame Corner Gallery through June 5. Click here to see all 20 posters from this year's Show. Established in 1971, The Frame Corner re-opened under new ownership in 2010. Peggy Linehan, the new owner, is dedicated to preserving the excellent reputation that Michael Couvillon, the prior owner earned by continuing to provide high-quality, professional service to all of its customers.
With over 30 years in the framing business, Peggy is a master at providing expertise on any framing project. Her knowledge about conservation and value retention is exceptional, whether it be for a historical item, family heirloom, memorabilia, photograph, print, drawing, painting, or art object. Her approach to any project is to give her customers the best possible service and make any piece “really work” by both showcasing and preserving each one.

We provide custom framing and design services for the following items:

Additional services include: hanging and installation, transporting art, packing and crating and restoration. We recommend and use methods and products that preserve the quality and value of your items. Pieces framed more than five years ago may be susceptible to acid burn from the material used to frame them. There are so many good posters! Ladies and gentlemen, the 1st Annual Austin Bike Poster Show is underway. The show opening was held Thursday, May 6, where the winning poster was announced (see photo gallery to the right). The winning poster was "Commute" by Kevin Nadeau. It combines all of the elements the judges were looking for: art that promotes cycling for transportation in Austin.

There are 24 posters in the show. Many of the artists were there to autograph their works. The judges acknowledged the selection was difficult because of the quality of the submissions.

Come to the gallery and see them all. The posters are on sale for $25 each, a portion of each sale goes to the Lamar Middle School Safe Routes to School program. We will be posting a gallery of the posters to the atxbikepostershow.com web site soon. Support art and cycling, buy a poster.

Austin Bike Poster Show - May 6 - June 5, 2010
Poster Show opening is Thursday, May 6, 7:00 - 9:00. Food, beer, and POSTERS!

Objective of Austin Bike Poster Show is to promote cycling for transportation in Austin * No cost to submit a poster * 25 posters will be selected for the show * Entries for show will be based on creativity, appeal, and strength of message * Show artists must supply 30 copies of their poster for sale at the show -see post below (posters will be sold for $25) * Panel of three judges will select the winning poster the week of the event * Winning poster will be given to the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Program to promote cycling in Austin * The posters will be on display in May (Bike Month) at the gallery in the Frame Corner - 5601 Adams Avenue, located north central Austin off of Burnet Rd. * Show will kick off May 6th with show opening event and run through June 5th. * 10% of the proceeds will go toward Lamar Middle School's Safe Routes to School program * To submit, email pdf of poster (14 x 22) to atxbikepostershow@gmail.com - deadline is April 30.
